[17p-Z32-1] [INVITED] Single crystal growth and physical properties of thermoelectric materials
Keywords:thermoelectric, single crystal, enhancement principle
Thermoelectric materials are expected to be useful to society, not only for energy-saving and low-carbon purposes by waste heat power generation at medium and high temperatures, but also as the power supply for innumerable IoT sensors near room temperature. In order to achieve high thermoelectric performance, new principles are needed to meet the conflicting demands of physical properties. In this lecture, I will introduce forefront developments in the new principles for thermoelectric enhancement and new materials, related to crystal growth technology and single crystals. High-temperature ceramic thermoelectric materials in which single crystals exhibit the highest performance, strong anisotropic materials, layered crystal intercalation materials, nano-precipitation methods & effects and high-performance principles derived from crystal structures, etc.
