The way how to improve the diameter of crystals grown by the infrared convergent heating floating zone (IR-FZ) method would be introduced. The diameter of the grown crystal is one of the biggest weak points of the IR-FZ method. Tilt of the mirror-lamp (M-L) system and the convergent position of M-L system were found to be quite effective to improve the diameter of the crystals.
