[18a-Z14-6] [The 22nd Optics and Quantum Electronics Achievement Award Speech] Pioneering study on phase measurement and X-ray phase imaging by Talbot interferometry
Keywords:Talbot Interferometer, X-ray phase imaging
Talbot interferometry invented by S. Yokozeki employs transmission gratings along the optical axis and can be used in a simple manner compared with other interferometric methods. A. Momose and W. Yashiro utilized the Talbot interferometry for X-ray phase imaging, and established an innovative imaging method for biological soft tissues, polymers, and so on, which are difficult to obtain contrast with conventional X-ray radiography. It is expected to be applied to medical image diagnosis and non-destructive inspection. In the lecture, we will introduce the imaging principle by Talbot interferometry and application developments.
