We propose to integrate titanium nitride (TiN) heaters and p-n diodes for bipolar Mach–Zehnder interferometer. Thanks to the small series resistance, our design shows higher modulation efficiency and achieved 2π phase change in both directions. We also measured the thermal response of the heater under pulsed control and conducted pulsed height modulation.
