In this paper, we have proposed a system that can reduce partial ring artifacts by placing a scatterer detector inside a C-shaped partial PET ring and complementing the truncated data with the principle of Compton imaging. The effectiveness of the proposed system was evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation. The results showed that the proposed system can reduce image artifacts and that it is more effective if a wide scattering detector surrounds the field of view.
