We present a combined gain media Kerr-lens mode-locked laser based on Tm-doped sesquioxide materials that achieves a broad gain bandwidth between 1850 and 2200 nm. Pulses as short as 60 fs (sub-9-optical cycle) were obtained with an average output power of 52 mW at 2.1 µm.
