In order to improve the lens power and aperture, liquid crystal lenses with high resistivity layers and ring electrodes have been widely studied in recent years. Liquid crystal lenses with Fresnel structure are particularly excellent because they enable large aperture. On the other hand, scattering occurs when the retardation gradient deviates from the sawtooth gradient when voltage is applied, which poses a challenge. In this study, we fabricated Fresnel-type liquid crystal lenses and observed interference fringes using a polarizing microscope for experimental observation of the retardation gradient.
