We propose distorted photonic crystals (D-PCs), for which that lattice positions of photonic crystals are distorted with respect to position, and show that this distortion can bend the propagation direction of an electro-magnetic wave within the D-PC. In order to experimentally confirm this phenomenon, we integrate GRIN lenses that are capable of launching a plane-wave into the D-PC medium.
