[19p-P01-5] Controlling the thermal transport of multilayer graphene by electrostatically induced strain
Keywords:graphene, thermal transport, strain
Strain applied to the material modifies its electrical and thermal properties. In this study, the thermal conductivity of mechanically exfoliated multilayer graphene was measured by Raman spectroscopy while applying strain induced by electrostatic attraction between graphene and the substrate. We found that the thermal conductivity decreased by 70% when the strain of approximately 0.1% was applied. This result implies that the phonon conduction, which carries heat in graphene, is strongly suppressed by the strain distributed non-uniformly.
