[19p-Z17-7] [Highlight]Selective Dinitrogen Pentoxide Production with Air Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma
Keywords:Dinitrogen pentoxide, Atmospheric pressure air plasma, Plasma bio application
Electric production of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species exclusively from air is an emerging role of low-temperature atmospheric pressure plasmas, which can be applied for plasma-medical/agricultural applications requiring direct reactive species supply. Laboratory synthesis of dinitrogen pentoxide, well-known powerful oxidizing and nitrating agent, and its selective supply require much care, therefore has been used exclusively in inorganic chemistry. In this presentation, characteristics of our newly developed plasma source, allowing electrically control of reactive species composition from air, i.e. (A) selective supply of dinitrogen pentoxide, (B) admixture of dinitrogen pentoxide with ozone or stable NOx, or (C) ozone or stable NOx , will be discussed with a chemical reaction model.
