[19p-Z17-8] [Highlight]Roles of Dinitrogen Pentoxide in Amino-acid Modifications Using Atmospheric-pressure Air Plasma

We demonstrated a selective production of dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) from air using atmospheric pressure plasma technology. This device enables us to investigate roles of N2O5 in plasma-induced chemical effects. Solutions of tyrosine, an amino acid, were treated by various plasma effluent gases (e.g., N2O5-rich, N2O5+O3) and the products were analyzed. The results and a chemical reaction model will be shown and discussed.
