Powder electroluminescent (EL) devices fabricated via printing processes can reduce the material costs, production time, and the numbers of required equipments relative to those fabricated by semiconductor processes because the former are fabricated via printing processes. In the conventional powder EL device on paper substrate, the transmittance are poor, and improvement of light emission extraction efficiency have been issues for high luminance. To solve this problem, we designed a powder EL device with a bottom emission structure using cellulose nanopaper (CNP), which has excellent transmittance. As a result, it was clarified that high luminance in powder EL device can be realized by introducing the CNP substrate.
