[19p-Z28-14] Single-shot Transport of Intensity Equation Method with Polarization Dependent Optical Path Length Control for SQAM Signal Beam Detection
Keywords:Holographic Data Storage, Transport of Intensity Equation, Single-shot
Spatial Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (SQAM) is a high-capacity technology for holographic data storage (HDS). We have proposed a method for non-interferometric detection of the signal beam generated by the SQAM method using the transport of intensity equation method (TIE method), which can determine the optical phase from the optical intensity. The TIE method requires at least two diffraction intensity images with different optical path lengths for SQAM signal beam detection, and these images have been captured by multi-shot method. However, multi-shot has practical problems such as reduced signal beam detection speed and vibration resistance. In this paper, we propose a new method to generate optical path difference between the intensity images by using phase SLM and to detect them in a single shot using a camera with a micro-polarizer array. We also use numerical simulations to verify how many the resolutions are required for a commonly available SLM to realize the proposed method.
