Thermal neutron detectors are widely used in a variety of fields, including homeland security, boron neutron capture therapy, and astrophysics. The basic principle of thermal neutron detection is to convert thermal neutrons into low-energy radiation using 3He, 6Li,10B,or113Cd. In recent years, the use of solid scintillators, including 6Li and 10B, has expanded due to the problem of 3He gas depletion. In this study, in addition to the binary system: Ce1%LaCl3/6LiCl, the ternary system: Ce1%LaCl3/6LiCl /SrCl2 eutectic was prepared as a new eutectic scintillator, and its crystal phase, luminescent property and scintillator property were also evaluated.
