[20a-A105-7] Voltage-Waveform Dependence in the Propagation Characteristics of Surface-Launched Plasma Bullets

Tatsuru Shirafuji1, Jun-Seok Oh1 (1.Osaka Metrop. Univ.)

Keywords:plasma bullets, voltage waveform, high voltage-rise rate

When the front surface of the planar dielectric plate is in contact with helium gas and a high voltage pulse voltage is applied to the back side, plasma bullets are launched vertically from the front surface. However, this phenomenon was not observed unless the applied pulse voltage waveform had very fast voltage-rise rate. We will discuss the reasons of this limitation based on the results of a simplified computer simulation.
