▲ [20a-B102-4] Investigation of piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting with an auxiliary bistable oscillator under impulsive force
Keywords:Piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting, Bistable, Impulsive force
MEMS piezoelectric vibration energy harvester (MEMS-pVEH) has been getting a lot of attention, because of high output power density. For practical applications of the harvesters, it is important to effectively harvest energy from environmental vibration, which has random and low frequency. In our previous work, a linear two degree of freedom (2DOF) pVEH using a dynamic magnifier shows significant enhancement of output power for low frequency vibration. Moreover, recent studies reported that a nonlinear bistable pVEH which processes two stable positions in the system are suitable for wide frequency and nonharmonic vibration, by the snap-through effect when the system transitions from one stable state to another one. In this work, an approach of appending nonlinear bistable oscillator with the linear pVEH as an 2DOF system, the electromechanical properties of the system under impulsive force were theoretically investigated.
