[20a-C202-1] Temperature variation of photoluminescence from heavily Cr doped ruby
Keywords:Ruby, Cr concentration, Photoluminescence
Cr doped Al2O3 crystal (ruby) is red crystal that emits red photoluminescence (PL) when excited by red, blue, green or ultraviolet light. This PL has been applied as fluorescent materials, fluorescence thermometers. Ruby with Cr concentration above 1.0 mol%, a wide peak thought to be caused by Cr3+ clusters can be seen in the near infrared region in addition to the sharp R line at around 694 nm.
