[20a-C304-2] [INVITED] Accelerating spontaneous Raman microscopy

Yasuaki Kumamoto1 (1.Osaka Univ.)

Keywords:Raman microscopy, imaging, biomedical application

Raman microscopy is an unreplaceable tool for label-free molecular imaging of cells and tissue but the slow measurement speed limits application of Raman microscopy to high-speed and high-resolution imaging. Here I present acceleration of spontaneous Raman microscopy in biomedical applications. Mulitline illumination Raman microscopy improves the Raman imaging speed by 4 orders of magnitude in comparison to conventional confocal Raman microscopy. I will discuss the potential new applications of Raman spectroscopic imaging in life sciences by multiline illumination Raman microscopy.
