△ [20p-A106-2] Dependence of depth in liquid irradiated with nitric-oxide radicals on proliferation of mouse fetal fibroblast cells
Keywords:fibroblast cells, nitric oxide, proliferation
The reaction of nitric oxide (NO•) with water produces various reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) with different lifetimes in liquids. We have focused on the difference in the lifetime and investigated the promotion of fibroblast proliferation as a function of depth from the air-liquid interface to the cell in liquids irradiated with RONS. The maximal proliferation enhancement effect was obtained at a depth of 1.0 mm in the liquid, which was 12.2 % higher than that of unirradiated control sample. The results suggest that NO• or other short-lived RONS affects the cells.
