[20p-A202-11] Application of laser biospeckle in the evaluation of the effects of far red light on plant

In recent years, research on improving plant growth efficiency by far infrared (FR) light has been gaining attention. However, existing evaluation methods are time-consuming and require destruction of plants. In this study, we propose a non-contact, real-time measurement method of plant activity under FR irradiation using laser biospeckle. The actual results suggest that laser biospeckle is capable of monitoring the activity changes due to FR with just 20 sec exposure producing changes. We suggest our method could be a speedy evaluation tool in assessing FR effects on plants.
