A concentrated aqueous solution (water-in-salt, WiS) have properties that is different from those of dilute aqueous solutions because of the small number of free water molecules. This is expected to lead to applications such as new electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries (LIB). In this study, we analyzed the interface between lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12, LTO), one of the LIB anodes, and WiS by AFM.
The solvation structure of water-in-bisalt (WiBS) consisting of LiTFSI and LiBETI was found to be different before and after the insertion of Li+ ions.
