Most of magnetic materials that show superior properties have specific heterostructure, and also recent spintronic devices consist of heterostructures. Here, the history of developing artificial metallic superlattices and magnetic tunnel junctions, as examples of magnetic heterostructures, will be introduced. Their latest functions obtained by tuning the heterostructures will also be discussed.
