Toward the development of groval quantum information networks, the photon-echo type quantum memory (QM) based on Atomic Frequency Comb (AFC) has been actively developed. We have studied 167Er3+:Y2SiO5 crystals to realize communication wavelength band AFC QM. In this report, we show that the AFC memory efficiency has been dramatically improved by using a novel AFC fabrication method based on an optical frequency comb.
