[20p-C206-6] Improvement of magnetostrictive properties of Fe-Ga prismatic single crystals grown by vertical Bridgman method

We have developed a manufacturing process of Fe-Ga magnetostrictive alloys which were available for materials of vibration power generators, from single crystal growth using a vertical Bridgman (VB) method to thin-plate processing. It was confirmed that the surface grinding finished Fe-Ga plates with a thickness of 0.5 mm had the magnetostriction by applying magnetic field parallel (λ_||) of about 300 ppm. Furthermore, we investigated the magnetostriction λ_|| at a thickness of 1 mm.
