Photonic crystal lasers (PCSELs) enable both high-power operation and high-quality beam, and are expected for laser processing, sensing etc. For mass production of PCSELs, the robustness of design becomes important. Thus, in order to introduce a mechanism to suppress the oscillation at higher-order modes, we theoretically investigated the effects of Gaussian current-density distribution on suppression of higher-order modes.
