Several reports have shown that optical absorption of non-metallic materials is stronger under two-color lasers than under monochromatic lasers. In this study, we extend the Keldysh-like formula for the probability of electronic excitation under a monochromatic linearly polarized laser fields for insulators to the case of a two-color laser fields and apply it to an isotropic two-band model which mimics α-SiO2 (bandgap 9eV).
