[21a-A307-1] Gap control between tellurite glass spherical optical resonator and planar waveguide by silica-microsphere spacer fixed with UV-NIR dual-beam optical tweezers

For optical coupling between a spherical optical resonator and a planar waveguide of telluride glass with a high refractive index, three silica glass microspheres with 5-µm diameter were placed as a pedestal on the tellurite glass planar waveguide by using UV-NIR dual-beam optical tweezers, and the tellurite glass microsphere resonator with 30-µm diameter was set on the pedestal. The gap between the resonator and waveguide was several hundred nm. These results indicate that this micro-fabrication process is suitable for the optical alignment of spherical resonators on the planar waveguide.
