Microdroplets generated by laser irradiation show spontaneous motion as if they were living organisms, and there is a possibility that they may be related to the origin of life. We are investigating the principle of this phenomenon and its application to microdroplet robots. In this report, we introduce some unique motions we have observed so far and discuss the state of the precursor film that spreads outside the reservoir between substrates as a liquid source and the principle of droplet generation.
