[21a-C102-11] Measurement of the Thomson coefficient in sintered Bi2Te3 thermoelectric materials
Keywords:Thermoelectric effect, Thermoelectric material, Material characterization
We proposed a novel method to address the inevitable heat loss in the Thomson coefficient measurement, where most of the radiative heat loss that occurs during the measurement of Joule and Thomson heats can be compensated for by calculating the ratio of the two signals. Herein, the Thomson coefficient of the sintered Bi2Te3 thermoelectric materials are directly measuerd with the propsed technque . We have successfully measured the Thomson heating and cooling when the polarity of the dc current is reversed from negative to posive.
