[21a-C202-10] Oxidation and Ultra-high Vacuum Heating Reduction of Germanene
Keywords:germanene, synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy, oxidation
Germanene is a monatomic honeycomb sheet of Ge that is expected to be used for electronic device applications. Although germanene can be synthesized on metal surfaces under ultra-high vacuum, its application is difficult because it oxidizes in air. In this study, we focused on the growth of germanene at the solid interfaces and aimed to form a clean Ge oxide/germanene interface by oxidation of germanene. We found that oxidized germanene can be regrow as germanene simply by heating it in an ultra-high vacuum.
