▲ [21a-C304-4] TE-mode Magneto-optical Isolator Based on An Asymmetric Microring
Keywords:Magneto-optical devices, Silicon photonics
Optical isolators are necessary components in photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Herein, we proposed a TE-mode magneto-optical (MO) isolator based on an asymmetric microring under a unidirectional magnetic field. By the experiment, an insertion loss of 4.3 dB and an isolation ratio of 22 dB at a wavelength of 1572.62 nm were successfully demonstrated. The proposed configuration is suitable for the design of higher density PICs, which are expected to replace existing integrated MO isolators after further optimization.
