[21a-P02-44] Contribution of magnetic structure and nitrogen to perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in ferrimagnetic Mn4N films
Keywords:nitride thin films, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy
Ferrimagnetic Mn4N thin films have attracted attention in the spintronics owing to their small saturation magnetization as well as perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA). On the other hand, the magnitude of PMA tends to scatter depending on some reports. The present study aims to clarify the potential value of PMA and the origin of PMA itself via first-principles calculations with second-order perturbation analysis. As a result, calculated PMA potentially shows one order of magnitude higher than that in the existing films, and spin-flip process cannot be ignored in the origin of PMA.
