We have fabricated thick YBCO wires using the Vapor Liquid Solid (VLS) method, in which a liquid phase is grown on a metal substrate. It is known that the growth rate of the VLS method is higher than that of the vapor phase method at low supersaturation due to the difference in cohesion coefficient. In this study, in order to discuss the supersaturation at the solid-liquid interface in the VLS growth method, we fabricated YBCO films on single crystal substrates using the VLS growth method and discussed the growth rate and supersaturation from the surface observations.
