To achieve optical quantum computer and quantum key distribution, it is essential to develop a single photon detector with high energy resolution and high speed. Transition Edge Sensor (TES) is a high sensitive microcalorimeter and is able to detect a single photon. In this session, we will report the result of characterization and photon detection about 1 μm square Ir-TES.
