Perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) have attracted attention as light emitting materials for next-generated displays due to their high optical properties. However, because of the organic ligands which are the insulating components, carrier injection to PeQDs was blocked, resulting in decreasing the external quantum efficiency on LED devices. On the other hand, with excessively removing the ligands, it is impossible to maintain the dispersibility of PeQDs. There are no purification processes of PeQDs to solve the tradeoff correlation between ligands and device performance.
In this study, the excess ligands in PeQD dispersion were successfully removed with maintaining their dispersibility because potassium oleate ligands could improve the bonding force between PeQDs and ligands. As a result, we also achieved to improve the external quantum efficiency of LED device.
