[21p-B103-4] Room Temperature Superionic Conductivity in Compounds of Silver Iodide and Silver Oxyacid Salt

Yuta Matsushima1 (1.Yamagata Univ.)

Keywords:superionic conduction, silver carbonate iodide, sublattice melting

Ag+ superionic conduction in α-AgI is often explained by "sublattice melting of silver", in which it is believed that iodide ions support the framework of the crystal structure and silver ions migrate throughout the voids in the structure. In this presentation, the Ag+ superionic conduction in the recently discovered silver carbonate iodide will be discussed based on its structural features in comparison with previously reported silver compounds including Ag+-conducting glasses.
