▲ [21p-B204-11] Tunable exchange bias effect in manganese- and nickel-based artificial perovskite superlattice structures
キーワード:Exchange Bias, Superlattices, Oxide thin films
Multilayers composed of magnetically active materials in the perovskite family are particularly fascinating, with interface ferromagnetism between two antiferromagnets or even between an antiferromagnet and a nonmagnet. Importantly, these systems often exhibit an exchange bias (EB) effect which is very useful for technological purposes such as magnetic field sensors, memories, and read heads. The EB phenomenon is the outcome of the exchange anisotropy at the interface of layered systems having competing magnetic interactions. In this study, we have chosen LaMnO3 (LMO) as an antiferromagnetic insulator in a bulk form and LaNiO3 (LNO) as a paramagnetic metal. We have found systematic change of EB effect in [(LMO)m/(LNO)n]r superlattices (SLs), fabricated by using pulsed-laser deposition technique, through detailed analyses on magnetization properties of various SLs.
