Researches on the use of At and I on Au nanoparticles for cancer therapy are being conducted. Understanding the physics of bonding between the radioactive elements and Au would help us design an optimized Au nanoparticle for this purpose. Comparing the adsorptions of At and I on Au, we found that adsorption of At on Au is slightly stronger compared to I on Au, showing that Au is a more promising carrier for At.
