[21p-C200-1] Co-generation systems and thermally driven heat pump technologies for waste heat utilization

Atsushi Akisawa1 (1.Tokyo Univ. of A&T)

Keywords:Waste heat utilization, Adsorption refrigeration cycle, Co-generation

Co-generation is a technology to utilize heat from power generation cycle. Thermally driven heat pumps can produce cooling from heat sources of relatively low temperature. It is useless to consume fuel for air-conditioning and domestic hot water supply because it wastes the quality of heat. Therefore, it is important to satisfy cooling and hot water demand with discharged heat or renewable heat sources, which leads to rational system to use heat in the future. This presentation focuses on the principle and the application of adsorption refrigeration cycles which are suitable for utilizing low grade heat sources.
