Keywords:optical wireless power transmission

With the progress of wireless information transmission, optical wireless power transmission (OWPT) technology has attracted attention. In particular, from a safety perspective, it is desirable to develop OWPT systems with 1200 nm light above due to the low optical absorption in the retina. We focused on CIGS solar cells, having the potential to absorb light above 1200 nm. For practical use, the photoelectric conversion efficiencies of CIGS cells were measured by changing the irradiated laser area. As a result, even if the irradiation area became half or less, the conversion efficiency decreased only a few percent. This result indicates that OWPT using CIGS solar cells is promising for practical use.
