In this presentation, we will present the direct generation of visible (640 nm) vortex mode from a Pr³⁺: WPFG fiber laser. We and our co-workers have successfully demonstrated the direct generation of high purity visible vortex modes from a diode pumped Pr³⁺: yttrium lithium fluoride laser. This extends our previous Pr:YLF vortex laser works to develop the ultracompact visible vortex laser sources.
