本研究では，微小球へのマイクロホログラム記録とその評価を行った．
記録媒体に微小球を利用することで，ホログラムの記録領域外への拡がりが制限され，記録体積の増加やピット間のクロストークの削減，そしてジッタフリー再生が可能となる．
3層ディスクの各層に位置する微小球への記録と，同一箇所への位相多重記録に成功した．
