[21p-P14-11] Study of nuclear material detection using a portable active neutron method device

In the field of nuclear security, the demand for non-destructive assay techniques of nuclear materials is increasing worldwide. Therefore, we have proposed a novel low-cost and portable active neutron method called the active rotation method, and have been developing a water Cherenkov detector as an innovative low-cost neutron detector for this method. In this presentation, the current development status and the possibility of detecting trace amounts of nuclear materials (enriched uranium and plutonium) using this method are reported.
