[21p-P14-16] Gamma-ray Imaging in a nuclear medicine facility using a high-sensitivity Compton camera with detector rotation function
Keywords:Compton camera, nuclear medicine facility, radiation protection
We observed leaked gamma rays in a nuclear medicine facility. We used a portable, high-sensitivity omnidirectional Compton camera with a detector rotation function, which observes gamma rays where the air dose is approximately background level. The measurements were carried out in the nuclear medicine facility of the National Cancer Center East Hospital in front of a hot cell where PET (Positron Emission Tomography) radioactive tracers are elaborated. As a result of the measurements acquired, it was demonstrated that this method can function as a next-generation environmental radiation observation device, thus replacing existing area monitors such as ionization chambers.
