[21p-P18-15] Improved Cycle Stability of Lithium Ion Battery Using Silicon Nanoporous Particle Anodes

Keywords:lithium-ion battery

Graphite is currently used as the mainstream anode active material, but replacing it with silicon film or silicon nanoparticles can extend specific capacity by more than 10 times (4,200 mAh g-1) and provide a low operating potential (0.5 V vs. Li/Li+). However, the capacity has not been improved while stabilizing the cycle life due to the limited ratio of silicon to conductivity aid that makes up the anode. In this study, the capacity was improved by making silicon nanoparticles porous and adding phosphorus to the surface of the nanoparticles.
