We discuss theory for sum-frequency generation of microwaves by a spatial coherence between the spin waves and electromagnetic fields in magnetic thin films. We extend the response to the nonlinear range while incorporating the nonlocality effects that are important in the electromagnetic wave-magnon interaction. This is the first theory to describe nonlinear optical response incorporating magnon-polariton nonlocality and is expected to lead to ideas for various spintronic devices.
