Keywords:devitrification, silica glass, crystallization

We investigated the devitrification of silica glass and alkali metal salts (NaCl, LiCl), and studied the conditions under which devitrification of silica glass is promoted and the suppression of devitrification. In particular, the crystal phase that grows differs depending on the type of alkali metal impurities. We have shown that in devitrification reacted by LiCl, devitrification progresses through the growth of Quartz.
In this study, we have investigated the effect of LiCl on the devitrification of silica glass, focusing on the correlation between the progress of devitrification and the crystal phase.
