[22a-B200-5] Designing Defects, Microstructure, and Compositions for New Materials Exploration

Kazuki Imasato1 (1.AIST)

Keywords:Thermoelectrics, Microstructure

Defects, microstructure, and compositional design are important in the search for new thermoelectric materials. Strategies for more efficient and effective exploration of new thermoelectric materials will be discussed by deepening our physical understanding of 1. how defect formation energy varies with thermodynamic states, 2. how microstructure affects thermal and electrical properties, and 3. how compositions can be controlled to improve thermoelectric performance.
