[22a-C201-9] Analysis of operating characteristics and fabrication of photonic nanostructured surface emitting THz-QCL

Surface emitting characteristics were stimulated with TM-mode 3-dimensional coupled wave theory (3D CWT) for clearer physical picture and faster optimization speed than FDTD and planewave expansion method (PWEM). Both optimized filling factor and air node shape for Terahertz quantum cascade laser (THz QCL) with 2-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) structured metal waveguide were investigated in this work. Also, we have test the fabrication process and tried to measured the radiation profamance of the QCL device.
