[22p-A101-6] Proposal of Surface-Normal Electro-Optic Polymer Modulator with Dimerized Plasmonic Grating

Surface-normal modulators are expected to be applied to the beam steering, large capacity parallel optical communications and others. In previous research, surface-normal modulators consist of sub-wavelength structure using electro-optic polymer and Au are demonstrated, but the fabrication tolerance of the Q-factor of optical resonance was a problem. In this work, we report that Q-factor over 100 was obtained across wide band (from 1300 nm to 1620 nm) in the experiment by introducing a dimerized grating to control Q-factor.
